We’ve done the sums and we are thrilled to announce that this year the collective efforts of 95 volunteers and 588 riders raised $1000s for Wanaka Primary School and Montessori Children’s House Wanaka.

$9000 has been donated to each school to enhance the environment for the local children. This brings the total donated by the Wanaka Trail Ride over the years to a staggering $158,000.

Wanaka Primary School will be putting the funds towards the Maker Space areas and Montessori will see a new shed installed to keep buggies and bikes secure and dry.

100% volunteer led the trail ride core organising crew pride themselves on putting on a safe and highly enjoyable trail ride for the community which is deliberately pitched for all ages and all abilities. “Regardless of what trails you’re riding, it’s about getting out and seeing some spectacular scenery and having some fun.”  says Phil Pendlebury tracks and marshal manager. The crew also aim to make it really enjoyable for volunteers who give 100s of hours of their time helping with media nad marketing, parking, registration, catering, comms and health and safety and of course track marking and marshalling.

Not only a major fundraiser for Wanaka Primary School and Montessori, one dollar from every entry is also donated to the RSA Appeal, with Tarras Primary School running the car parking as part of their fundraising, providing 5 volunteers – around 50% of their parent population!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal supporters and passionate volunteers for their continued support. Extra special thanks to Sharlene and Denis Nyhon and Lucy Annan and Simon Maling, for your generosity by allowing us to access your land. We would not be able to run this event without you.

Until 2022 – that’s a wrap, thank you and we hope to see you out there next year.
